誰が頼んだ訳でもないのに、金にものをいわせ、世界の行方を自分達だけで決めようとしている、まったく効力のない非公式な会議。
毎年毎年、持ち回りのホスト国が莫大な資金をかけて、超一流ホテルを借り上げたり、超豪華なメディアセンターを設置したり、とにかく贅沢三昧。
首脳達にとってはいい格好の出来る絶好の機会だから、とにかくはりきるだろうけどいい迷惑だよ。そんな大金を少しでも人々の為に使えば? などと抗議し、平和を唱えるだけで口封じ‥反逆者達は即逮捕! 冗談じゃないよ
そんなG8が今年 北海道の洞爺湖で行われます。

G8 is... Group of 8 advanced countries (Japan, United States of America, Germany, United Kingdom, Itary, France, Russia, Canada)
An annual event where the heads of state of the G8 countries gather to feast on super-gourmet lunches.
They (the G8) claim to meet and talk about world povetry and environmental issues, but it's all smirk and no substance. An informal meeting without any validity, where they're trying to monopolize the course of the world with their money power. No one ever asked them to in the first place.
Every year, the host country, which rotates between the 8 countries, goes all out in trying to make an impression, renting out an entire luxury hotel, setting up fancy media centers and wasting money on other worthless tasks.
It's a great chance for the heads of states to make an impression using this world event, so they all hustle for it, but come on, it's really such a nuisance.
Silenced by authority just by suggesting they should use all the money that goes to waste at the G8 Summit for other worthy causes, or
just by voicing out hopes for peace. Rebels against the system are caught on the spot. Fuck that.
This sort of crappy G8 Summit will take place in Lake Toya, Hokkaido, Japan this year, in 2008.
We say NO! to the ploblems that we are forced to face, thanks to the G8. And so...

～自力ムーブメントへの誘い～
私達を取り巻いているのは、金を払わなければ成り立たないような、ほとんど商品のみで構成されている世界である。金がかからない場所を見つける方が大変
で、「生活する事＝商品を買う事」という生き方以外を想像するのは難しい。
生活の豊さは、金で手に入れた“ブツ”の質や量で決まってしまうのが常識とされ、金を手に入れる為に、“自力”、“自立”、“やりがい”、を口実に自ら
を労働市場へ送り込む（自分の労働が自分の生活に必要無かったとしても）。
音楽産業が宣伝文句として使う、“インディー”、“アンダーグラウンド”、“D.I.Y.”、という言葉もしばしば、私達を市場競争へ駈り出す為の自己
責任論、勝ち組／負け組的な個人主義に回収されているのでないだろうか？
では、このCDは資本主義の外側で作られているのか？というと残念ながらそうではない。CDプレス、ブックレット等、業者に発注して金を払って制作して
もらっているし、それなりの金額で販売もする。結局、資本主義の中から逃れられないでいるのである。
私達は一人よりも複数で行う協同作業に可能性を感じている。このCDも様々な作業に、たくさんの人達が関わってくれた（この場を借りて感謝！！）。自分
達が必要な事を、各々のバラバラなモチベーション（ショボくていい）で、いっしょにゆる～く組み立てていくことで、本来もっていたはずの主体性を自らの
手で資本主義から奪い返す。
自力レコードが目指すのは、こういった協同作業を日常生活の中（衣、食、住…ありとあらゆる行為）に張り巡らし、労働を“遊び”に転化させ、資本主義の
内側から競争原理とは全く別の“自力＝D.I.Y.”を創造し増殖させる“ムーブメント”への参加の呼びかけである。

An open invitation to the "JIRIKI"(=D.I.Y.) movement...
Just take a glance at the world that surrounds us. What you'll see is money being handed from one hand to the other, commodities filling up every void. You're bound to have a hard time finding a place where money doesn't matter. You'll have difficulty thinking of alternative lifestyles other than
"living=buying".
Common sense of this world tells you that your quality of life depends on the and quantity of "stuff" you obtained through paying money, and in order to obtain money in the first place, you have to throw yourself into the lavor market (even if the content of the lavor is unnecessary in life),
armed with excuses such as "self-sufficiency", "independence", "challenge".
Even the iconic words and phrases that the music industry employs as advertising blurbs, such as "indie", "underground", "D.I.Y."... Aren't they all just slyly leading us into the market competition with the glorification of self-responsibility? With the glorification of individualism that comes
along with only two options of being either the winner of loser?
So now you're asking, "What about this CD? Is it free from all the capitalist bullshit?" Unfortunately not. The CD pressing, booklet printing, etc... was done through placing orders and paying money to the pressing plant, printers, etc... And the CD basically has a price on it as well. Sadly
enough, we weren't able to totally free ourselves from capitalism after all...
We sense greater possibilities in collaboration rather than isolation. Many wonderful people contributed talent, time, effort and various skills to this CD (thanks everyone!). This is an attempt to reclaim our independence (which is supposed to be an innate quality we all posses in the first
place, but...) through loose and easy collaborative work, each person with their own various levels of motivation (it's ok to be lazy sometimes) in constructing something that is necessary in life.
What JIRIKI Records aims for is to extend the web of this sort of collaborative work within all spectrums of daily life (clothes, food, shelter..., you name it), and to transform lavor into "play" or "pleasure". This is an open call for participation in an ever-growing "movement" which breeds and
creates a totally different sort of "JIRIKI=D.I.Y." than that of the principal of competition of the capitalist world we all live in.
